When a young nightclub singer attempts suicide because of her lover's departure, doctor Neal heals the girl's wounds and reunites her with her estranged boy friend. This is a routine nightclub-based melodrama featuring Neal as a god-like figure who teaches night-life lovers the benefits of
kindness and understanding. It is sappy, but very stylized, thanks to director Ulmer. Ulmer improvised this ridiculously cheap version of GRAND HOTEL from a one-page outline and shot it on a single set. Songs include "Tico Tico" and "Besame Mucho."
