The Clown Murders

A group of well-educated professional men decide to live dangerously and kidnap an ex-girlfriend of one of them who is now married to a wealthy man. The "fun" crime turns disturbingly tragic when two of them are killed as tension mounts at their hideout. Effective, well-acted drama that suffers from a television director's sense of pacing and visualization. Candy, later to become famous on television's "Second City Television" is good in a minor role, but the true scene stealer is Reineke, whose brooding, drunken, violent behavior gives the film its unsettling quality.
