Ex-Nazi Kollmar vows to stop at nothing to retrieve some film shot by newsreel cameraman Baxter that proves the German is alive and well and living in New York City. Kollmar captures Baxter and the negative, but a positive delivered to the police spurs a city-wide manhunt and the Nazi is killed in a three-way shoot-out among Baxter, Kollmar, and a former henchman of the Nazi who has been double-crossed. Famous during its time for being one of a small group of features shot entirely in New York, this espionage/action drama could have been shot in the most glamorous spots around the world, but its tiresome plotting, mundane acting, and unsuspenseful action sequences would have still made it a pedestrian effort. leave a comment
