Ventura is a stolen-art dealer recruited by thieves Aznavour, Biraud, and Geret into a plan to rob a moneylending establishment. When the heist fails, the other men speed off in the getaway car, leaving Ventura behind to be captured by the police. Rather than betray his cohorts, he serves a five-year jail term.
