Sentimental claptrap with Whoopi Goldberg, who should have known better, playing the kind of warm and wonderful mammy figure that went out with Louise Beavers. Kathleen Quinlan and Michael Ontkean are a wealthy couple who suffer the loss of an infant daughter. The grief-stricken Quinlan goes to Jamaica to recover and meets hotel maid Goldberg. She's so taken with Goldberg that she invites her to her Baltimore mansion to serve as maid to the family, which includes a 15-year-old son (Neil Patrick Harris).
