Based on a true story, ths adaptation of Jonathan Harr's book is a zestful drama about an attorney (John Travolta) who battles two large corporations charged with polluting a small community's water supply. Somber and surprisingly downbeat, the film is nevertheless a grabber, thanks mostly to Travolta's portrayal of a cynical lawyer surprised by his own sense of justice.
