Reportedly inspired by a line in a poem by Poe, this dull movie stars Price as the ruler of an undersea kingdom who has one of his gillmen kidnap Hart from the surface because she closely resembles his dead wife. Hunter, Tomlinson, and a pet rooster go underwater in search of her. This was the last film directed by Jacques Tourneur (THE CAT PEOPLE [1942]). leave a comment
