City Park

Slow film about a mixed-up young girl (Blane). Three old men are sitting on a park bench when a starving Blane comes along. After talking to a prostitute who tells her about the good food in jail, she tries to get arrested. She is let go and put in the charge of the three old men, including Walthall, an eccentric old colonel whose aim becomes the saving of Blane. Walthall's married son does not like the idea of him carrying on with the young girl, and cuts off the old man's allowance. Walthall scrapes up some money so he and his two bench pals can move into a boardinghouse. They let Blane earn her keep by entertaining them and cooking their meals.
