This Russian-made film chronicles the Soviet Union's growth in the Far East. Filled with Soviet propaganda, the film shows the transplantation of masses of Soviet youths to the Amur River, to build a city and defense base. Intrigue occurs when a Russian school is sabotaged, and the
culprit takes the identity of a man he killed in the process. The girl hero of the settlement hunts down the killer, but not before he destroys the gas supply and kills off witnesses. (In Russian; English subtitles.)
