This low-budget film rises to stylishness in its humorous look at the struggles of an underground newspaper to stay afloat. Tom (Elliot Crown), its publisher-editor, both narrates and enacts the events in flashback as he scribbles his recent life story for the paper. A woman he meets in a Greenwich Village bar provides the inspiration for "City News," an autobiographical cartoon strip his paper publishes.
