An omnibus film along the lines of TALES OF MANHATTAN, this holiday production has Harding as a wealthy spinster whose nephew, the avaricious Denny, is trying to take over her estate. A friendly judge decrees that if Harding can gather the three foster children she has raised to help her retain her estate, he will postpone Denny's legal action. The remainder of the film deals with her search for the three nissing boys, now grown to manhood and having pursued separate destinies. Scott is an alcoholic cowboy who gets mixed up in a baby racket, Brent is a wastrel who owes Denny a fortune in gambling debts, and Raft is a rich South American cafe owner who is wanted by authorities for a swindle Denny actually committed. After several adventures en route, the three manage to return to Harding on Christmas Eve to save the old homestead and expose the rotter Denny. Though episodic, the offbeat film offers some fine performances, witty dialog, and solid action, with Raft emerging as the most sympathetic of the male trio. leave a comment
