Champion tennis player Bridges succumbs to the corrupting influences of Hollywood, public adulation, and commercialism. The story line is sparse and the dialog random, but the strong visuals get this one across. The golden-boy sports hero, a native of Hollywood, embodies the morals of that society. He is materially successful but unable to show any true feelings. He deteriorates from respected champion to a frequenter of decadent parties and seller of hair tonic. Horatio Alger backsliding on a cliche-riddled story. leave a comment
