A U.S. naval intelligence mission late in WW II is the focal point for CHINA VENTURE. O'Brien plays a tough marine captain well versed in jungle warfare. Sullivan plays a tenderfoot naval officer. The two are on a mission to kidnap a Japanese admiral, Ahn, from the China coast for
questioning by top intelligence brass. The mission takes them through rainy jungles, and several skirmishes ensue with both Japanese and Chinese guerrillas. Conflicts develop between O'Brien and Sullivan, due to O'Brien's resentment of the younger officer. Sullivan finally sacrifices his life to
stave off a Japanese attack.
