The title "street" humorists make their way around Los Angeles, looking for a plot which doesn't exist, bumping into mindless types--including Paul Reubens (pre-Pee-Wee Herman) as a shabby stand-up comic and Edie McClurg as a rich spinster--until they run out of characters and the film
mercifully ends. Though they provided a tad of amusement in their sleeper debut, UP IN SMOKE, Cheech and Chong's subsequent films have only gone to prove their first movie was a fluke. The humor here is forced, incoherent, and sophomoric, made worse by Thomas Chong's amateurish direction.
