Signoret, strong, self-aware, and sensual, is married to riding academy owner Blier, but with the help of her mother (Marken) she carries on a series of affairs with the intent of bagging bigger game. Blier is eventually ruined, but Signoret, after being jilted by a gigolo she's fallen in
love with, suffers a near-fatal accident. Thoroughly competent, though typically dull, the film is told in a fractured flashback style that only confuses the story. But Signoret is always worth watching.
