Aimed at an urban African-American audience, this noisy farce extracts a few chuckles from the pitfalls of Internet dating. Best pals Jelly Roll (Christopher Richards), Max (Brian Hooks), and Drew (Darryl Brunson) are dateless and lonely as their ten-year class reunion approaches. A decade earlier, they and a fourth friend, J Ron (Troy Winbush) — now a successful dentist and all-around babe-magnet — made a bet as to who would show up at the reunion with the foxiest lady. They wagered $50.00 on the outcome, but another friend's wise investment strategies have increased to pot to an $50,000. Braggart J Ron is sure he's got the contest in the bag, and prospects do look dim for Max, whose only admirer is bespectacled waitress Wendy (Deya Simone), better known as a klutz than a beauty. Irked by J Ron's swaggering, Max convinces his buddies to troll the Internet in search of dream dates. Jelly Roll promptly meets a chick with facial hair, Drew hooks an obese blonde and Max gets manhandled by a wealthy grande dame. Subsequent fiascoes include dates with a witch, a cosmetic-surgery freak who's kept the fat from her liposuction, and a gang-banger who forces Max to knock off a convenience store. Things seem to be looking up when Drew encounters a gorgeous lady named Pink Panties (Lanease Adams), but the stunning babe neglects to mention that "she" has a penis! Can these singles' scene dropouts can break their jinx in time to beat that blow-hard J Ron at his own game? This broadly played, misogynist's pipe dream serves up raucous slapstick, smirking innuendo and a few good gags: Jelly Roll's request to eat the chicken being sacrificed by a witches' coven is a genuine giggle. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
