This engrossing, superbly crafted thriller revolves around the mysterious arrival of Baxter's presumed-dead brother. As the plot thickens, Baxter begins to believe that her brother's appearance is part of a scheme to drive her mad so that some diamonds can be stolen. Director Anderson, whose filmmaking artistry has too long gone unappreciated, takes a fresh approach to his material here, which was remade for TV in 1975 as ONE OF MY WIVES IS MISSING. leave a comment
