Despite the presence of some top-flight names, CHAINED fails to be anything more than your typical hanky-wringer of the 1930s. Kruger is a wealthy, middle-aged steamship executive. He's unhappily married to Gateson, who won't grant him a divorce to marry his mistress, Crawford. Crawford goes on a sea journey to South America and meets Gable, a wealthy Argentine rancher.
