A pretty sick exploitation drama featuring the Hilton sisters--real Siamese twins who had appeared in Tod Browning's FREAKS in 1932--as a set of inseparable twins, one of whom has been charged with murder. The sisters take time out from their predicament to sing and dance a few numbers. The sisters' real life was much more interesting than this movie. They were born in England in 1908 and exploited by their mother, who dragged them to freak shows across America. From there they appeared in a few movies in the 1930s, and were even named as the third party in a divorce suit in which they were found innocent after a sensational trial. By the 1950s they were the owners of a hotel in Pittsburgh, but they eventually went broke and operated a fruit stand in Florida until they died in 1964. leave a comment
