Ten Cents A Dance

Stanwyck is a tough taxi dancer collecting the title fee from sailors and the like while watching out for her naive coworker, Blane. One night, wealthy Cortez gives Stanwyck $100, which she in turn gives to Owsley, an impoverished resident of the boarding house she lives in, and with whom Stanwyck has fallen in love. Cortez offers to take Stanwyck to Europe with him but she refuses. Disappointed, Cortez fades into the background as Stanwyck and Owsley are married. The marriage, however, soon turns sour.
