Cellar Dweller

This modest horror film opens in 1951, as cartoonist Combs is hard at work in his basement on a horror comic book, his storyboard panels showing a monster with a satanic symbol on its chest killing and eating a young woman. The inspiration for Combs's work is the book The Curses of the Ancient Dead; and when he reads one of these curses, the drawing comes to life. Twenty-five years later, Combs's mansion has become a rooming house for art students, where newcomer Mullowney attempts to create a comic book based on Combs's old "Cellar Dweller" series, setting up work in the basement and discovering the book of curses in the process.
