In the last days of WW II, six soldiers and one woman (Schiaffino) find themselves trapped deep inside a cave in the Italian mountains. Two of the soldiers are killed trying to escape, and the remaining members of the party are slowly getting on each other's nerves. The pressure becomes
so great that British general Aherne shoots himself. His gunshot sets off an explosion that enables the other prisoners to escape. Claustrophobic and compelling, this was the last film from great programmer director Edgar G. Ulmer. It was shot in Italy and Yugoslavia.
