While traveling across the western wasteland, a pioneer family is attacked by outlaws who kidnap Downing (later played by Lease), one of two sons. The boys grow up on opposite sides of the law, next meeting before a jury demanding prairie justice. When the brothers discover they are kin,
Lease is acquitted and the family is reunited. If the hanging in one scene had been staged from a platform as low as some of the lows reached in this film, the culprit would never have left the ground.
