This mildly amusing costume comedy set in the 1700s casts the wimpy Hope as a man mistaken for a look-alike Casanova. He is forced to continue this charade when hired by a duchess to test the faithfulness of her son's fiance. Hope encounters a score of Hollywood villains along the way,
including Basil Rathbone, John Carradine, Lon Chaney, Jr., and Raymond Burr. In a cameo, Vincent Price appears as the Casanova Hope is originally mistaken for--the resemblance is uncanny. We are also treated to the tune "Tic-a-Tic-a-Tic," performed by a couple of gondoliers.
