A modern-day version of an old tale pits the title lover against the emancipated woman. Mastroianni is well cast as a NATO officer whose sexual arousal comes only when danger is interwoven with passion. A funny, inspired sex farce which is well-suited to the times, it was an Academy Award nominee for Best Original Screenplay. (In Italian, English subtitles.) leave a comment
