The title city is hero Scott's destination in this well-crafted western. A Virginia banker tries to stop stagecoach robberies by constructing a railway, hiring Scott as foreman. The residents of Carson City, along with a gang of bandits, don't take kindly to this sort of expansion, and attempt to prevent it. After taking blame for the death of a local newsman, Scott falls for the newsman's mourning daughter. Justice prevails, however, when the townsfolk learn that Scott has been wrongly accused. They come to his aid and the tracks are soon laid. Director De Toth shines with westerns, and this one is no exception in pace and production values. CARSON CITY was the first film made in Warner Color, and the hues are not always consistent. leave a comment
