The Carpenter

THE CARPENTER, a slow-paced, low-budget entry from Canada, focuses on a young couple, Alice (Lynne Adams) and Martin (Pierre Lenoir), who move into a new home in a strange suburban neighborhood only to be visited by the ghost of the previous resident, a carpenter (Wings Hauser) who was executed for murder. After a stay in a mental ward, Alice returns to her professor husband and their new home, parts of which are still being constructed. Things go well for her until the night she hears odd noises coming from the basement.
