Lackluster adaptation of the Merimee/Bizet classic tale dealing with a Spanish officer who falls in love with a seductive gypsy dancer who ruins his life. The emphasis is on the romance (as opposed to the more sordid aspects of the tale) and many of the more adult themes have been watered
down for mass consumption. The highlight of this version is a vicious fight between Carmen and a rival dancer.
