Overly complex pirate film starring Hardwicke as a man whose wife and daughter have been kidnaped by evil plantation owner Sullivan, who then sells Hardwicke into slavery. Twenty years later, Hardwicke, now an infamous pirate, seeks revenge on Sullivan by using Payne (who bears a remarkable resemblance to Sullivan's nephew) to infiltrate the villain's private island and to incite an armed uprising by the slaves. Payne also finds the time to fall in love with Hardwicke's now-grown daughter Dahl (who believes she is Sullivan's daughter, her mother having died years ago). A big battle ensues enabling Hardwicke to take over the island.
