Very early talkie stars Dove as the wife of a French magistrate stationed in French Indochina who is being held back in his career by an unscrupulous boss. His boss only promotes those men whose wives succumb to his amorous advances; Dove refuses to capitulate and storms into the creep's office to demand an explanation regarding the held-up promotion. Realizing that she has made the situation worse by barging in on him, she almost gives in to his sleazy advances. Then a native, who had been hiding in the office closet waiting to steal things, is discovered. In the ensuing struggle the boss is killed.
