An Iranian desert epic released in American theaters just before the situation in Iran blew up in the West's face. The film features Sarrazin as a lowly American consular employee who is sent into the desert to find the American wife (O'Neill) of an Iranian colonel (Vosoughi), who has run
off with a Kochi Chieftain (Quinn). Sarrazin finds O'Neill with ridiculous ease and spends the rest of the film trying to convince her to come back to civilization. She won't leave, he won't return without her, and the pair witness tremendous intrigue, torture, mayhem, festivals, and executions.
There are meaningless walk-ons by Lee, Kemp, and Cotten. Only Quinn shines in his perf...
