An early operetta in the European fashion, this is well-made technically but ultimately yawnable. Boyer overplays the part of a gypsy in a small Tokay village as Young arrives to claim her inheritance, a huge estate. She can only get the vast holdings, however, if she marries. Smith, a local baron, suggests she marry his son, Holmes, but spunky Loretta refuses and marries Boyer, leader of a gypsy orchestra that has come to the area to play while the grapes are harvested.
