Silly post-nuclear sci-fi drama concerning the war between three tribes of survivors inhabiting a rubble-strewn Manhattan. The three groups are known as the Norms, who live like cavemen; the Mutes, who are hideously scarred from the blast but peace loving; and the Upriver people, who are
brutes. After many inane run-ins with each other, the Uprivers are eliminated by a flood that fills their tunnel under the Hudson River. But hope for mankind glimmers when a Norm woman, Field, and a Mute man, Randell, fall in love. Both tribes soften and look forward to a child born of peace.
Halfway decent visual effects help this shaky film by the producers of the vastly superior...
