Small-town drama starring Kibbee as an eccentric but pleasant town drunk who entertains children with outlandish tales of adventure. Robson plays a lonely spinster who forbids her young niece from spending any time with Kibbee. The girl disobeys and becomes one of the drunk's most avid listeners. One day Kibbee discovers a buried treasure and kills a man in self-defense after he is attacked for the loot. The girl is put on the witness stand and her testimony is damaging.
