Van Cleef is an Indian who is an army officer assigned to investigate the murder of the Indian Commissioner. During his investigation, he discovers that rich landowner Whitman has hatched a plan to start an uprising by disguising his men as Indians and assassinating President Grant. This
threatens to cause the Army to drive the aborigines off their oil and gold-rich lands. Done in a silly tongue-in-cheek style and filled with anachronistic humor (featuring, for example, drug-induced hallucinations and psychodelic music), the film comes off as ridiculous and flat.
