Capetown Affair: Review

A pickpocket cops a purse on a South African bus but gets more than expected: the purse contains an envelope holding top secret microfilm. This leads to discovery of a communist spy ring and innumerable chases, lamely photographed and directed. Bisset and Brolin in early roles are not impressive; the only standout is veteran Trevor who reprises the role originally played by Thelma Ritter in PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET, upon which this unimaginative remake is based. leave a comment
