Strange but fascinating, this low-budget, modern-day western stars Basehart as a uranium prospector who agrees to take on geology professor Collins and his daughter (Kirk) if they will help him locate the mother lode. Conflict arises when sinister mine owner Elliott sends helicopters
into the Utah flats to stop the prospectors and Basehart attempts to gun the metal birds down with his six-shooter. A good supporting cast and an outstanding performance by Basehart hold character interest. Unfortunately, the film is in black and white; some of the scenery, including the Utah
canyons, would have been stunning in color.
