The Cannibals

1969, Movie, NR, 88 mins

Ekland is a fashionable young thing in Milan, Italy, preoccupied with getting her dead brother's body dragged off the street and hidden in a nearby cave. It's all a modern rendition of Sophocles' "Antigone" with lots of heavy symbolism about youth rebellion. In fact, the characters are so symbolic they aren't people anymore. It's pretty to look at, but that isn't enough to make this dated item worth watching. leave a comment
