Unlike most teen sex comedies, CAMPUS MAN doesn't heavily emphasize nudity and sex. Instead, the film almost has a sense of naivete to it. Todd Barrett (John Dye) is a student at Arizona State University who can't cover his tuition costs. Then he hits on a novel idea: Using his hopelessly handsome roommate Brett Wilson (Steve Lyon) as a model, Todd decides to print a calendar which he hopes to sell for big bucks. Todd turns to loan shark Cactus Jack (Miles O'Keeffe) for financial backing, then sets his scheme into motion. His tuition gets paid in short order, but the calendar sales don't cover the price of the loan. Now he must resort to new measures to get the money. This is fairly silly stuff, though it's played with good energy. Dye performs the expected machinations with a certain degree of charm, and O'Keeffe has some amusing moments in his supporting role. leave a comment
