When Molina is raped and her attacker is killed by an unseen vigilante, a rash of unexplained murders plagues the Camorra--the Naples crime syndicate. All the murders use the same modus operandi: the rapist is killed by hypodermic injection to the testicles. Molina is questioned by local authorities and underground mob figures, but it is apparent that she did not see the vigilante. Her friends have their own ideas about the murderer's identity. The chief suspect is Keitel, Molina's former lover, who has a violent streak and is still possessive about her. Lacking the broad humor of some of writer-director Wertmuller's other films, CAMORRA pays more attention to elements of the melodrama and the crime thriller. There is the usual Wertmuller lush photography and artistic composition, as well as the anti-male message. leave a comment
