In his first role as producer, Cooper turns out a savory spoof of westerns, particularly the type with the strong, silent hero he himself had established. As an inept, gun-shy saddle bum, Cooper rides into town with his carping sidekick, Demarest, only to be mistaken for bad man Jarrad (Duryea).
