Calypso Joe: Review

The first and the worst of the brief calypso cycle of films that emerged in 1957, this one was packaged with HOT ROD RUMBLE. Dickinson is an airline stewardess and Kemmer is a TV star. They meet, fall in love, split up, go to South America, and reunite. But mostly there's the music, with Jeffries in the title role singing "There's Only One Love (Between a Man and a Woman)" and six other tunes. The Easy Riders perform their hits "Marianne" and "Sweet Sugar Cane." leave a comment
