The people of California want to break free of Mexico and join the Union, but the Mexican army is waging a terror campaign to keep them in line. The soldiers are led by Pate, but Mahoney, his half brother, is helping the revolutionaries. After the Mexican troops are routed, Pate is killed
by one of his men and Mahoney ends up with his father's estate and Seaforth, Pate's fiancee. AIP turned its exploitative talents to the western here, and the result is an utterly forgettable programmer. Allegedly based on the 1946 film of the same name, the film bears little resemblance to it.
