Routine western actioner starring Hale as a drifter who agrees to defend a gold mining town against a group of baddies led by Coffin. To do this, the hero outwits the outlaws by pretending to be a dangerous gunslinger. Romance surfaces in the guise of local lass Booth, with whom Hale
rides off into the sunset. Coffin appears in an inexplicable dual role as the chief crook and as a dumb Indian guide. Hurst, who usually played gangsters, turns up here as Hale's goofy sidekick.
