An uninteresting story of four Jewish friends who get together to mourn the death of their friend, Braverman. Although there is a hint of lust between widow Walter and Segal, the film is basically a character study of sad people who care little about each other or themselves. Some of the
Jewish humor could be seen as offensive, but the truly offending thing about the film is director Lumet's inability to create anything but pitiful characters.
