Morgan, somewhat disillusioned with his marriage and saddened by the onset of middle-age, convinces his wife, Tobin, that the two of them should take week-long separate vacations, and neither should feel obligated to talk about what went on after the week is over. Tobin is hesitant at first, then agrees, knowing that it will mean a great deal to him. Morgan's fantasies about being pestered by countless beautiful girls are completely unrealized during the vacation, but Tobin meets and falls in love with a charming young man. Tempted by his offers of marriage, Tobin refuses the man and returns to her true love, Morgan, who has had a rebirth of affection also. Very engaging comedy with some very serious overtones dealing with kindness, understanding, and marriage. Morgan and Tobin are wonderful as the couple, each bringing spirit and insight to their characters. The pace is fast and funny, but the emotional qualities of the script are never forgotten. leave a comment
