Another addition to the welcome recent crop of adult romantic comedies, THE BUTCHER'S WIFE sadly treads old ground, and wastes the talents of its marvelous cast. Marina (Demi Moore) is a clairvoyant who lives with her grandmother on an island off the North Carolina coast, waiting for supernatural signs that love will come her way. Expecting a dashing young swain, she is surprised when New York butcher Leo (George Dzundza) unexpectedly shows up on her island. Nonetheless, she throws herself at him, and they're married immediately.
