Blake and Gould, two cops frustrated with the criminal-conscious modern justice system, decide to pursue mob chief Garfield on their own, in complete disregard for the legal restrictions placed upon them by their supervisors. Exciting, well-paced police story whose vigilante thematics can
be seen in director Hyams' later work, THE STAR CHAMBER. Blake and Gould are good, but have done better, the limitations of the script not allowing them to explore the eccentricities of their characters. The real star of the film is director Hyams' camera that manages to capture a frenzied sense
of despair and sudden violence.
