A blocked writer (Jonathan Pryce) resents his lovely wife (Carole Bouquet), a prolific but unpublished novelist; when smarmy American publisher Christopher Walken comes on the scene, a romantic triangle forms. Charlotte Brandstrom's upmarket war-between-the-sexes comedy never really lives up to the promise of the talents involved -- admittedly a tall order -- but its small pleasures are many. Bouquet is proof that you can be sexy and funny at the same time (unless you're Meg Ryan), Pryce is masterfully neurotic and Walken gets a rare chance to romance a woman without having to kill her. leave a comment
