When senior citizen Davis is evicted by unsympathetic banker Robinson, she teams up with plumber Borgnine, a former thief, and the pair decide to start a bank-robbing career dressed as hippies. The two are found out but, through an ironic twist of fate, are freed. The former crooks then
decide to settle down and get married. This clever script is ineptly directed by Oswald, who has no idea of how to embellish the comedy with pace, movement, or wit. Davis and Borgnine are excellent, though, showing that years of training and professionalism can overcome just about anything.
